Hi. My name is Jamie Jeffery. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona who is committed to helping clients gain satisfaction in their lives. Over the past 15 years, I have had the opportunity and joy working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. I also facilitate groups and work as a Clinical Supervisor for new therapists. I strive to create a safe, non judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable to talk and share their story. My approach with clients is personal, allowing me to connect and work collaboratively with them. I also work to identify dysfunctional thought and behavior patterns. Once these patterns are known, solution-focused, DBT and cognitive behavioral techniques can be used to elicit change.
I have had great success in working with adolescents, young adults and adults. I have experience and specialized training in working with depression, anxiety, OCD, women’s issues, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. I value a strong therapeutic relationship to help create personal growth and look forward to working with you.
Life presents many challenges that are difficult to navigate alone. Knowing when to reach out for support shows wisdom and self-awareness. My philosophy has been reinforced by years of working with individuals who have found it helpful to reach out for support when facing challenging life events. I believe that it is essential to build a strong therapeutic relationship, and this is fundamental in fostering healing and change. I believe and have seen the power of the human connection in the healing of people. My extensive experience has demonstrated that this occurs best in a safe, non-judgement environment. When clients feel comfortable, they are more receptive to learning the various tools and techniques that promote personal growth and change. I am licensed in Arizona with 30+ years of professional counseling and clinical supervision experience. I have experience in helping clients with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, family conflict, relationship issues and coping with life changes. Whatever the issue, we will work together to find the best solutions. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. Together we will find how to accomplish your desired goals and improve the quality of your life. I am here to support you as you enter into this process and look forward to working with you.
Jessica graduated from Northern Arizona University with her Bachelor's in Elementary Education and has 10+ years of working in education with children. Jessica also earned her Masters in Clinical and Mental Health from GCU. Working as a teacher is what led Jessica to realize how important therapy is for not only children but families as well.
Jessica believes that therapy is for anyone and everyone and feels that making the step to come to therapy is extremely brave and courageous because it can often seem scary or intimidating. She believes connection is extremely important and is passionate about working with her clients to ensure they feel safe and supported. Jessica uses combined approaches such as CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, and when needed, a little humor and lightheartedness. She can also integrate Christian concepts if that is something that is wanted.
After becoming a mom in late summer of 2022 this ignited a passion in Jessica working with post-partum moms and parenting. She loves to work with post-partum mama’s and parents of young kiddos. Post-partum and parenting can be so hard and yet so beautiful; sometimes, we need someone to just validate what a crazy ride it can be.
